Studying and Reading your Bible
Hello, my wonderful people!
Today, I am coming on to talk about Bible Studies and reading your Bible. So during this year, I have been really trying to set my priorities straight and putting God back as the head and king of my life. What this meant for me is trying to actively search and know God through prayer and reading the scripture.
Now being a teacher is crazy, and there are times when you don’t feel like you have time for anything besides your students and everything that we as teachers do. However, I realized that there is time if we set our priorities up the correct way and start our day with our top priority. For me, my top priority is following the Lord and keeping my relationship with Him.
How I am implementing this in my daily life is as soon as I wake up, saying a prayer. I really enjoy having that quiet time with Him where I am thanking Him for the things that I am blessed with and laying everything on him that I am worried or stressed about for the day. Now I will admit, I don’t do this every day, but it is a goal of mine to do it every day and I feel so much better when I do put effort into saying a prayer before getting out of bed.
Another thing I do is read the scriptures and studying as I eat breakfast and get ready for the day. Now, this is a little different because I am multitasking. However, I do try to give most of my attention to my bible study as I am getting ready.
The Study Program that I am currently working on is through the app ReadScripture. I have been reading the bible and in church, my whole life and I have learned so many new things and thought about the scriptures from a new perspective or lens from using the read scripture app. It is amazing!
Another study that I use to reflect and experience peace and gratitude is Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. This is also a year-long devotional book that reminds you that God has everything under control and He understands and loves you. This is something I continually need and go through as a person who is a people-pleaser and a worrier about everything and everyone.
An app that I use to read and study my bible besides those two is the Youversion Bible App. This app not only contains hundreds of versions of the bible, but it also contains thousands of plans that span from a few days to a few years. It also contains some of the videos from the ReadScripture App.
She Reads Truth is a tool that I use for reading plans that are designed for women who want to be in God’s Word. They also have a multitude of resources and backgrounds that you can use! All plans are amazing and you should definitely check it out!
Here’s to set yourself up to learning more about God and studying His Word. I hope you enjoyed this and if you haven’t check those out, please do!
XOXO,
Dinah
