How to Stay Productive

Hello Beautiful People!

This week has been crazy for me, as I am sure it has been for all of you! I want you to know that I am praying for each and every one of you in the unsure time. God is in control and He is working everything out for good. I know that sounds crazy to say but I just finished reading Job and we don’t have the same vantage point that God has, so while we are confused, scared, and unsure. He is not. He is in control. He is going to use this time for His good. Stay at it, people!

Now, something that I have been thinking is how am I going to work from home. I am a first-grade teacher and we have been told by our district that for the next four weeks, we are working from home. WHAT??? HOW??? Yeah, all the thoughts are running through my head.

My main thought is how am I going to stay productive while I am at home with no set schedule, no set time, nothing. Here is how! Block Scheduling! If you don’t know what block scheduling is, check Jordan Page’s video and page!

I discovered it while I was watching Jordan’s youtube channel and instantly thought OH MY GOODNESS! I have the solution to staying productive while at home! Now, this tool doesn’t have to be used just in this time of quarantine; that is just how I have used it so far. So I immediately looked at my Happy Planner and thought how can I turn you into a block schedule planner? I love my Happy Planner but my block schedule has made it more productive for me. I’m merging the two. I’ll show you what mine looks like down below.

My Productive Planner

I have 6 blocks in my day. A Morning Block, A Morning Work Block, A Lunch Block, And Afternoon Work Block, an Afternoon/Evening Block, and A Night Block.

I try to have my blocks 2-3 hour time periods and group my tasks by what I am doing or where I am at. I also take into consideration the priority of that task.

This allows me to be the most productive and stay on task while I have many things on my mind. Seriously this is the best thing since planners.

Also, if you have tried this schedule let me know how it has worked out for you!

XOXO,
Dinah
