Evening Skincare Routine

Washing my face in the evening is a must for me! I enjoy taking a little me time before bed. I also regret it in the morning if I forget!

As an oily girl, it is important for me to deep clean my face. I need to get the oils and dirt out of my pores to prevent breakouts and any kind of acne. Introducing: Double Cleanse! The reason an oil cleanser is important is that oil is attracted to oil, it will be able to remove excess oil from the pores. I use Young Living Mirah Cleansing Oil as my first cleanse. Then I use Tatcha The Deep Cleanse for a minute or two to clean off any dirt and grime of the day. This cleanser has exfoliating beads that gently exfoliate while cleansing. It isn’t harsh so it is good to use every day.

After double cleansing, I tone using Thayers Facial Toner with Rose Petals mixed with a tsp of jojoba oil and 15 drops of young living lavender and tea tree essential oils.

Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA liquid Exfoliate is a new addition to my evening routine. I’ve always struggled with blackheads and pore size; so I am incorporating this to help with that and use it every other day.

Serums! The highlight of my evening routine! I use skin renewal (cellular turn-over) and acne-treating serums. For gentle acne treatment, I use Derma E Acne Blemish Control Treatment Serum. On days I need a little more help, I use The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. On days that I don’t use Paula’s Choice, I use The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA chemical peel, for skin renewal. For eye treatment (a little help here never hurt anyone) I got for Dermalogical Multivitamin Power Firm.

At night, I really want to pack in the moisture! I don’t have to worry about being greasy during that time. I use Banana Souffle Moisture Cream then layer 3-5 drops of SuperBerry Hydrate and Glow Oil on top of my moisturizer to seal it all in.

Let’s talk about pimple patches vs. spot treatment. I’ve used both, both are great. However, I don’t like the thought of my spot treatment getting rubbed off of my skin throughout the night by my tossing and turning. I want it to stick and stay on to continue working until morning. That is the main reason that I use pimple patches. I use the mighty patch and really like them! They do a good job!
